The marine products programme offers a taste of the “Love Food”. Latest new developments in the oyster banks and in the field of micro-algal technology are followed at the headquarters of Seas alter Shellfish Co. in Whitstable, U.K. Activities within the fight against the globally decreasing yields of the fishing industry are introduced. The film also reveals the mystery of the “salami” management technique, applied by traditional leading personalities living in the Indonesian food-growing lowlands. Or how a small bamboo cage helps to a major catch. Finally, the film presents the work of Irish growers of marine algae, disclosing some of the tricks of this industry bringing million-dollar annual turnovers.
