The presidents of the Festival

The greatest credit for the creation of the “brand” of the international film festival Agrofilm must be given to its former president of many years and the present honorary president Professor Ing. Ján Plesník, DSc. The name of Professor Plesník is connected mainly to prosperity of the Research Institute for Animal Production in Nitra; he was its director for 32 years (1959-1991). Under his leadership, the Research Institute for Animal Production became an internationally acknowledged institution primarily in relation to the development of zootechnical sciences but also the school of ethics, moral and aesthetic education.

After Professor Plesník held the function of the Agrofilm President Prof.Ing. Ladislav Hetényi, PhD.; Prof. Štefan Mihina, PhD.; JUDr. Marieta Okenková, PhD.; Ing. Janka Beresecká, Mgr. Dana Peškovičová, PhD, Ing. Mario Schrenkel, Ing. Zuzana Nouzovská, Ing. Martin Polovka, PhD. The present president of the festival is the director of the National Agricultural and Food Centre Ing. Mgr. Lucia Gocníková, PhD.
